MPO - Citizen Advisory Committee
The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) assists the Metropolitan Planning Organization by providing input to the transportation planning process that reflects the citizens' views and attitudes. CAC members represent a general cross section of the citizens of Sarasota and Manatee counties including the cities within the counties.
CAC meetings are held at 5 PM in the main conference room at the MPO Office located at 8100 15th Street East, Sarasota. The MPO occasionally has special meetings which will be posted on this website. The public are always welcome and are encouraged to participate during the public input portion of all meetings.

Ride of Silence
The Ride of Silence is a free ride, hosted in cities worldwide, that aims to inform motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride also honors those who have been killed or injured.
Join other bike clubs and riders on a silent, gentle 7-mile ride as we honor those injured or killed on public roads. Help us promote awareness of bicycle safety in our community.
We will have police escorts in the front, back and middle of the riders.
Ride of Silence ceremony will start at approximately 6:45PM. Bagpipes will begin at approximately 6:55PM. The ride will leave the parking lot at 7PM.

This free public event invites you to meet the Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) team and learn about the future of transportation in our region.
Whether you're curious about upcoming projects or have thoughts on traffic, transit, safety, or connectivity—this is your chance to speak directly with transportation planners, explore interactive materials, and share your feedback in a meaningful way.
We’re in Phase 3 of our 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), and your voice matters. At the event, you can:
Learn about proposed transportation projects in Sarasota and Manatee counties
Talk one-on-one with planners and MPO staff
Share your thoughts on regional needs and priorities
Complete our official community survey to help shape the plan
Light food & refreshments will be served, and staff will be available throughout the evening to answer questions and gather your input.
Admission is free, and registration is encouraged.
